Lars Grant-West is an American illustrator, creature designer, and educator based in Massachusetts. Active since the early 1990s, he has created fantasy art for clients including Wizards of the Coast, contributing to Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. With a background in natural sciences, he specializes in anatomically grounded creature design. Since 2008 he has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he leads courses in creature design, worldbuilding, and digital art. He also maintains a dermestid beetle colony used for preparing skeletal reference material.
